What pet play is, and what it is not
Pet play is a roleplay in which one adult becomes the pet and another the owner. In femdom the owner is the Mistress, and the pet is a submissive who has chosen to set aside part of his everyday self: he kneels instead of sitting, answers commands instead of questions, and earns praise instead of arguing for it. The collar he wears says whose pet he is.
It needs saying plainly: pet play involves no animals in any way. No animal is present, and none is the subject of the fantasy: it is two consenting adults and a role one of them plays. What the pet borrows is a temperament rather than a species: eagerness, loyalty and the conviction that his owner's approval is the best thing in the world.
The pup headspace: simple, playful, loyal
Ask people who play pups what draws them and most describe a state of mind before any gear. The pet does not plan, negotiate or weigh consequences. He has an owner, a handful of commands and one question in his head: is She pleased? For a man whose working day is all decisions and inboxes, that narrowing feels like a holiday, and regulars call it pup space or simply headspace.
Loyalty is the other half. A pup waits for Her, is glad when She arrives, and finds that a word of praise from Her lands harder than it has any right to. The play can be bouncy and silly, which is why it draws people who find heavier domination cold while still giving them a firm hand to answer to. Our subspace guide covers the wider family of submissive headspaces.
Personas and owners: how pet play varies
No two pairs play it alike, but most scenes lean towards a few shapes on each side of the collar:
- The eager pup: bouncy, affectionate and easily distracted, the classic puppy play persona, trained with patience and plenty of praise.
- The trained pet: calm and precise, proud of a clean sit and a long stay.
- The aloof cat: independent and hard to impress, for a Mistress who enjoys winning a pet over.
- The affectionate owner: warm, doting and generous with praise, making Her pet feel wanted.
- The strict trainer: fair but exacting, with rules, corrections and treats that must be earned.
- The humbling owner: for pets who want the role to lower them, the collar worn as a reminder of their place.
Commands, tricks and treats on a one-way cam
A pet session usually opens on the floor. You kneel before the screen with your collar fastened, She greets Her pet, and the commands begin: sit, stay, down, beg, paw, roll over, fetch. Fetch means bringing back an object She names from elsewhere in your room, such as the leash or a slipper. Between tricks She praises or teases, and a treat set out beforehand, perhaps a square of chocolate, is eaten only when She says it has been earned.
Privates with our own Mistresses run one way only: you watch and listen, your camera and microphone stay off, and there is no chat box inside the session. She calls the trick, allows a count for it and praises on trust, because She cannot see whether you rolled over or stayed down for the full minute. The honesty is yours to keep, and most pets find that it sharpens their obedience. To have your owner's eyes on you, choose a LiveJasmin partner room marked ↗, where cam2cam is a paid extra bought in credits on that site.
Pet play is carried by voice more than most niches, so the audio-only rate some Mistresses set suits it well: you hear the commands and the praise with your eyes on the floor, where a pet's belong. In Her public room, mostly free to enter, a playful owner may let Her pup answer in the chat with a single permitted word.
Knee pads, floors and the rules for your body
Pet play is more physical than it looks, because crawling puts most of your weight on your knees and wrists. Wear proper knee pads, play on carpet or an exercise mat, and keep crawling to short stretches with a kneel or a sit between them. Padded mitts spare the wrists and turn your hands into paws at the same time.
Stop at pain, numbness, tingling or anything that feels wrong, whatever the scene says; a good owner would rather call Her pet off early than have him limping tomorrow. Your collar follows the rules on our collar and leash page: two fingers fit under it and nothing ever pulls on it. The rubber pup hood of club nights has no place here, because nothing covers your face or head in play on this site, and any treat is ordinary food. Pets who play alone will find the rest in the BDSM safety guide.
Choosing an owner, and what to say first
Look for pet play or collar on a Mistress's card; the grid on this page lists everyone live with either, most popular first, and you can browse every Mistress online for the rest. Her public room will tell you a great deal before you pay for anything: some owners are all warmth and fuss, while others treat a new pet as a project to be trained.
Keep the first message short: the persona you play, the owner you want, the tricks you know and your limits. For example: "Mistress, I would like to be Your pup for twenty minutes: simple commands and lots of praise, no humiliation today, and my knee pads are on." Private time with our own Mistresses is billed per minute at Her published rate in US dollars, from a balance you top up in crypto, and a small tribute after a good session is the pet's way of saying thank you.
Where pet play leads next
The collar and leash are pet play's core symbols, and many pets come to want a collar of Hers to wear between sessions. Pony play is the prouder, more athletic cousin, built on posture and gait instead of tricks. Slave training offers the same obedience without the paws, and femdom roleplay covers scenes with other characters entirely.
Questions people ask
What is pet play in femdom?
A roleplay between consenting adults in which the submissive takes on a pet persona, usually a pup, and his Mistress plays the owner. It is built on a collar, kneeling, commands, tricks, praise and treats. No animals are involved at any point: the pet and the owner are both people playing roles they have agreed to.
Does pet play have anything to do with real animals?
No. Pet play is human roleplay between adults and involves no animals in any way. The pet persona borrows a temperament, such as eagerness, loyalty and simplicity, and wraps it around a dynamic of ownership and obedience between two people who have both said yes to it.
What is the difference between puppy play and pet play?
Puppy play, or pup play, is the most common form of pet play, built around an eager and loyal pup. Pet play is the wider term and takes in other personas, such as a proud cat that has to be won over. The dynamic of owner and pet, with the kneeling, the collar and the commands, stays the same across all of them.
Can my owner see me doing tricks in a private session?
Not with one of our own Mistresses. Their privates are one-way: you watch and listen, your camera and microphone stay off and there is no chat box, so She gives the commands and praises on trust. If you want to be seen, pick a LiveJasmin partner room marked ↗, where cam2cam is a paid extra bought in credits on that site.
What do I need to start pet play at home?
Not much. A collar that fits with two fingers underneath, good knee pads, a carpet or mat to play on and a treat set aside beforehand will carry a first session. Padded mitts help your wrists if you crawl. Leave out anything that covers your face or head, and stop at the first pain or numbness.
Is pet play sexual?
It can be, and it need not be. For some pairs it is affectionate and playful from start to finish; for others the ownership is charged and the scene grows more intimate as it goes. The Mistress decides how explicit a session becomes, so tell Her beforehand where your line sits and She will play within it.
